Alice Ann (McGuffog) Grippi

Alice Ann McGuffog Grippi, a resident of Clyo, GA, departed this world on Thursday, May 5, 2022, at the age of 71.  Alice passed peacefully at her home surrounded by her family.

Alice was born September 29, 1950, in Jersey City, New Jersey and was a resident of New Jersey for most of her life but had many pit stops before settling in Georgia.  A graduate of New Milford High School class of 1969, Alice spent most of her adult life working as a professional press operator at various dry cleaners in the Bergen County, NJ and Detroit, Michigan area.  In her earlier years, Alice taught Sunday School at Grace Lutheran Church and later in life taught basic computer skills to children and adults at Bergen County Academy.  Along with traveling and touching many lives in many places, one of Alice’s greatest joys was serving Thanksgiving dinner to the homeless and needy with her sister in faith Emma Kemp at the shelter in Patterson, NJ.

Alice was preceded in death by her mother, Nellie (Helen) Kander McGuffog and father, William McGuffog.  Alice leaves behind her sister, Nancy A. McGuffog Oliver (James); brothers, John J. McGuffog (Joan) and Jimmy W. McGuffog; daughter,  Nicole A. Grippi; nieces, Tabitha S. Redmond and Rebecca N. McGuffog; nephews, Troy D. Redmond (Tonya), Keith E. Redmond (Lisa) and Kenneth W. Oliver as well as grandchildren, Ashley Carson Artis (Tyler), Devin Mallard (Ken’Nyriah Counts), Braxton Grippi; great grandchildren, Mariah Mallard, Evin Mallard, Elisha Washington;  great nieces, Breahna N. McAllister, Noella R. Redmond, Adalyn H. McAllister; great nephew, Troy J. Redmond.

Cremation service was performed at Carlson and Riggs Funeral Home in Guyton, GA.  Alice’s wishes were to have no memorial services but requests that each of us remember her for who she is and what she meant to all of us.  If you would like to make a contribution in Alice’s memory, please donate to your local shelters for the homeless and needy.
