Alston Lee Wallace, Sr., 89, passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, January 8, 2023, at Memorial Medical Center in Savannah.
Alston was born on September 17, 1933, in Pinetown, North Carolina, to parents, Alexander Maryland and Daisy Cutler Wallace. He graduated from Bath High School in 1951. Afterwards, he served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War as a Mechanical Accessories and Equipment Repairman. He then went on to work with Unisys Corp until retirement. Alston was a long-time member of Rincon First Christian Church, where he served as an Elder. He loved hunting, spending time in the outdoors and was a member of Egypt Hunting Club.
Alston is survived by his wife, Nancy Carol Wallace; children, Alston Lee Wallace, Jr. of Springfield, Angela Gardner (Michael) of Savannah, and Joseph Alexander Wallace (Tammy) of Guyton; grandchildren, Neal Perry, Alex Perry, Brandon Wallace, Dylan Wallace, Alston Wallace, III, and Joey Sharpley; and great-grandchildren, Noah Perry, Eli Perry, and Cohen Perry.
A visitation will be held at Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home on Saturday, January 14, 2023, from 3-4pm with a funeral service to follow at 4pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Interment will be held at a later date at Wallace Cemetery in Pinetown, North Carolina.
