- Guyton - Mr. Alton Edgar NeSmith, 79, passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at St. Joseph Hospital in Savannah, Georgia.
Mr. Alton was born in Bulloch County on February 14, 1938 to Albert and Bessie NeSmith. He was Veteran of the United States Navy, a contractor, and a member of Elam Egypt Church, where he was a former member of the church choir.
Survivors include: his wife, Ruth NeSmith; four sons, Frank Norris, Dylan NeSmith, and Devin NeSmith all of Guyton and Ricky NeSmith of Illinois; three daughters, Jessica NeSmith Glisson of Guyton, Dinkey NeSmith Wise (Tim) of Stilson, and Peggy NeSmith (Barry Argent) of Rincon; brother Kenneth NeSmith of North Georgia; four sisters, JoAnn Rooks of Brooklet, Faye Wilson of Pooler, Deloris Hernandez, of Sumpter, SC, and Henrietta Crosby of Rincon; 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Elam Egypt Baptist Church on Thursday, July 6, 2017, from 1 - 3 p.m. with funeral services to follow at 3 p.m. Burial will be held in the Foy Cemetery at Elam Egypt.
Memorial Contributions may be made in memory of Mr. Alton to Elam Egypt Baptist Church, 2166 Egypt Ardmore Road, Guyton, Georgia 31312.
