Annie Arnsdorff Oglesby, 93, of Rincon, Georgia, passed away peacefully at the Effingham Long Term Care Facility on Tuesday, November 13, 2018. Annie was born in Rincon on May 26,1925 to Jeremiah and Ethel Arnsdorff.
She was preceded in death by Arte Gregory (Buck) Oglesby Sr., her husband of 61 years; her son, Arte Gregory (Peck) Oglesby Jr.; and her parents, Jeremiah and Ethel Arnsdorff.
Survivors include her daughters Deborah Poole (Jimmy) of Memphis, Tenn, Bethany Fletcher and Shelly Hobbs (Chris), Faye Hodges of Rincon, Georgia, 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her two sisters, Stella Seckinger of Rincon and Bobble Bookhoop of Savannah, many dear nieces, nephews and friends.
She was a member of the Rincon United Methodist church where she participated in the WW Oglesby Sunday School class, the Eva Oglesby UMW circle, and was a longtime member of the choir. She was a lifetime member of the Rincon Garden Club and several other Garden Clubs around the area.
Pallbearers include her grandsons, Templeton Fletcher, Michael Poole, William Hobbs, Nicholas Hobbs, Jeremiah Hobbs, great-grandsons, Taylor and Chase Robinson, and a great-nephew, Jake Arnsdorff. Honorary Pallbearers include the W.W. Oglesby Sunday School class, the Eva Oglesby UMW circle and the Rincon Garden Club.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be sent to Rincon United Methodist Church Music Fund, 107 Savannah Avenue Rincon, Georgia 31326, in her memory.
Visitation will be held at Rincon United Methodist Church on Friday, November 16, 2018, from 2-4PM with funeral services to follow at 4PM. Burial will be held in the Rincon Cemetery.
