Anthony P. Rivera, 59, of Guyton, GA, formally of Middletown, NJ, passed away, after a short illness, on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah, GA.
Anthony was born in Newark, NJ on April 18, 1962, to Paul and Eleanor Rivera and moved to Middletown in 1974. He attended Saint Catherine’s Grammar School in East Keansburg and graduated from Mater Dei High School in New Monmouth in 1981. He worked for PRUPAC in Holmdel and for other various insurance companies. One of Anthony’s most recent positions was VP Claims vendor management for Sompo International Insurance Company in Alpharetta, GA. However, one of the proudest and most meaningful jobs was his work as a trustee of the Enterline Foundation, an organization serving adults in the IDD Community.
Anthony will be remembered by many as a kind and gentle man who had a passion for life. As an avid reader he would often engage in debates over the most obscure topics. He loved to laugh and enjoyed telling a good joke. You could often find him chuckling over a childhood memory or a funny line from an old television show. Anthony had a great love for cars and many of his and Debra’s road trips revolved around car events. He would often stop to talk to strangers about their classic vehicle. He and his wife, Debra, shared in their love and respect for each other, family, friends, and their many shelter dogs.
Anthony will be missed greatly by all that knew him.
