Barbara Therese (Kuenzel) Davis

Mrs. Barbara Therese Kuenzel Davis,86, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at St. Joseph Hospital in Savannah.

Barbara was born in Wisconsin on October 2, 1936, to Elphege and Therese Kuenzel. She married M/Sgt Laten Rae Davis, and they moved around every 2 years. During their military time, they lived in numerous places including Crete, Greece, Misawa, Japan, San Vito de Normani, Italy, Fort George Meade, Maryland, and Tyndall Airforce base in Florida. Through the years, Barbara was very much involved in her children’s lives, she always enjoyed attending school trips and being the den mom for her daughters’ Brownie Troop. Barbara served for over 30 years, under numerous priests, as the organist and music director for Our Lady of Lourdes Church, and most recently served as a communicant at St. Boniface Catholic Church.

Barbara had a most generous and giving heart and would take in any animals that were in need of a loving home. She will be forever remembered as a loving wife, wonderful mom, and steadfast friend.

She is preceded in death by her husband, M/Sgt Laten Rae Davis; daughter, Karen Davis; and parents, Elphege and Therese Kuenzel.

Barbara leaves behind a daughter, Constance Davis of Clyo; sisters, Kathleen Bornemann and Alice Haen both of Wisconsin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will take place at St. Boniface Catholic Church on Friday, February 10, 2023, from 10 – 11am with funeral mass to follow at 11am. Burial will be held in Wheeler Cemetery.
