Carl "Rags" Ragland, Sr.

-Springfield- Mr. Carl “Rags” Melton Ragland, Sr., 65, passed away Monday, September 30, 2019, at St. Joseph's Hospital.

Mr. Carl was born in Nashville, TN on August 2, 1954 to Howard and Margaret Ragland.  He was a Veteran serving in the United States Navy and was retired from Inco as a Millwright. Rags was a very devoted and hardworking family man who especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, fishing, and riding motorcycles.

He is preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Rhonda Ragland; parents, Howard and Margaret Ragland; and brothers, Sonny Floyd and James Floyd.

Survivors include: his loving wife of 7 years, Susan Ragland; son, Carl “Buggs” Ragland, Jr. (Renee) of Twin City, GA; daughter, Rebecca Anderson of Pooler; sisters, Cathy Burnett of Tennessee and Ann Smith of Louisiana; grandchildren, Damien Ragland of Rincon, Ian Anderson of Rincon, Aiden Anderson of Rincon, Ava Anderson of Rincon, Alexie Ragland of Twin City, and Peyton Carroll of Vidalia; special friends, Jimbop Roberson and Mickey Hewitt; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many many friends.

The family will hold a celebration of life service at 6PM on Saturday, October 5, 2019, at his son’s “Buggs” residence, 636 Antioch Church Road, Twin City, GA 30471 with a procession leaving Riggs Funeral Home at 4PM.
