-Springfield-Mrs. Carmela "Penny" Grace Romero, 73, passed away Wednesday, August 2, 2017, at her residence.
Mrs. Romero was born in Savannah, Georgia on February 9, 1944 to Alfred and Grace Mosley. She worked hard to earn her nursing degree, so she could provide for her children. Penny worked as a nurse for a number of years before retiring to be a full-time homemaker. She was very active in the Senior Citizens Center of Springfield. Mrs. Romero will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by: her parents, Alfred and Grace Mosley; son, Marvin Lee Black, Jr.; and daughter, Lisa Grace Wilson.
Survivors include: her sons, Jay Black (MaryAnn) of Rincon, Stephen Anderson (Tara) of Ellabell; brother, Alfred "Butch" Mosley (Judy) of Savannah; grandchildren, Sarah Anderson, Crystal Saxon, Stephen Anderson, Marvin Lee Black, III, Corey Black, Ashley Wotring, Dallas Black, Daniel Allen Black and Amanda Wilson; 8 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Riggs Funeral Home on Sunday, August 6, 2017 from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m.
