-Ellabell-Mrs. Cherrie Clark Johnson, 87, formerly of Rincon, Georgia, passed away Monday, June 5, 2017, at her residence.
Mrs. Cherrie was born in Cross, South Carolina on May 6, 1930 to Allen and Cora Clark. She worked for many years as a seamstress for Rincon Manufacturing and was a member of First Christian Church of Rincon.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Johnson; son, Terry "TJ" Johnson; grandson, Chris Johnson; and brothers, G.W. Clark and Jack Clark.
Survivors include: son, Randy Johnson (Debbie) of Ellabell; daughter, Diana Taylor (Bruce) of Ellabell; brother, J.P. Clark (Ann) of Cross, SC; sister, Lessie Dixon of Monks Corner, SC; 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Riggs Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 7, 2017, from 2 - 3 p.m. with funeral services to follow in the chapel of the funeral home at 3 p.m. Burial: Effingham Memorial Gardens.
