Constance "Connie" Swagert

Constance “Connie” Swagert, 68, passed away at her home in Guyton on Monday, February 20, 2023, with her loving family by her side.

Connie was born in Tennessee on May 13, 1954, to James and Edna Mae Butler and lived in Effingham County for many years. She worked for 33 years as a teacher, most recently working at Charles Ellis Montessori Academy in Chatham County. In her free time, Connie enjoyed crafting and making homemade gifts for her family and friends. Connie will forever be remembered as a loving mother, wonderful grandmother and devoted friend.

She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Edna Mae Butler; and brother, Terry Butler.

Survivors include: her son, Robert Swagert (Tabitha) of Whitemarsh Island; daughter, Christina Swagert of Guyton; and grandchildren, Cole (Savannah), Caden, Madeline, Sadie, and Isabella.

A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2023, from 5 – 7pm at Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home.
