Daniel Gene Bird, Sr.

Daniel Gene Bird, Sr., 52, passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at his residence.

Mr. Danny was born in Savannah, Georgia on February 6, 1971, and lived in Effingham County the majority of his life. He was a loving and caring man, that always worried about others. Family meant the world to Danny; he loved being able to spend time with his grandchildren and was known as the family prankster. Danny was a jack of all trades and could fix anything and everything. When he was not working or spending time with his family, you could find Danny fishing.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Linda Bird; and sister, Christina Bird.

Survivors include: his loving wife of 15 years, Michelle Bird; sons, Daniel Bird, Jr. (Lynn) of Rincon and Robert Harrelson of Rincon; daughters, Sabre Bird of Rincon, Leslie Heller (Brian) of Rincon, and Heather Lamb (Dallas) of Ellabell; brothers, Wayne Bird (Linda) of Rincon, Donnie Bird of Bloomingdale, and Allen Bird (Michelle) of Springfield; grandchildren, Michael Freeman, Thomas Freeman, Odin Harrelson, Bryce Heller, Greyson Bird, Colton Robere, Abel Robere, and Atlen Bird; father, Paul Bird, Sr.; and many other extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be held at Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home on Sunday, May 7, 2023, from 11am-12pm with a celebration of life to follow in the chapel of the funeral home at 12pm.
