Edward "Ed" Andrew Tuers,49, beloved father, son, and friend, passed away at Memorial Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia on Thursday, March 7, 2024. Ed was born in Orange, New Jersey on May 11, 1974, and lived in Effingham County for a number of years. He graduated from Forest Park High School and later earned a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Safety and Health from Columbia Southern University.
He was known for his unwavering love for his family and treasured every moment spent with them. His children, Gabby and Tommy Tuers, were truly the apple of his eye. Ed's warm personality was evident in the time he spent with his loved ones, creating cherished memories that will be forever treasured.
Beyond his commitment to his family, Ed had a deep passion for sports. An avid fan of UGA, the Falcons, and the Braves, he found joy in cheering on his favorite teams and sharing in the victories and defeats with friends and family.
He is preceded in death by his great grandmother, Ruth Tuers; and childhood best friend, Dion Fowler.
Ed leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will be forever held dear by his surviving family members and friends. Among those mourning his loss are his beloved children, Gabby and Tommy Tuers; parents, Laura and James Fomby; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, brotherhood friends, and Rincon Community friends.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
