-Springfield- Ms. Elsie Irene Engelage, 85, passed away Friday, December 15, 2017, at Effingham County Extended Care.
Ms. Elsie was born in Springfield, Georgia on February 4, 1932 to Freeman and Carrie Dickey. She was formerly employed by Ryder Truck Line and was of the Baptist faith.
She is preceded in death by her son, Joe Hendrix; parents, Freeman and Carrie Dickey; and siblings, Wilford Barrs, Thelma Barrs Rahn, Reginald Dickey, Sr., Cecil Dickey, Eunice Dickey Tuten, Grace Dickey Roberts and Truman Dickey.
Survivors include: nieces and nephews, Wanda Lee of Jacksonville, Florida, Jack Tuten (Joyce Ann) of Guyton, Janice Oliver (Joe) of Savannah, Reginald Dickey (Gail) of Springfield, Roger Dickey of Guyton, Ritchie Dickey (Pat) of Clyo, Candy Stone (Mike) of Rincon and Shirley Shearouse of South Effingham; brother-in-law, Walter Tuten of Springfield; and a number of great nieces and nephews.
Memorial Contributions may be made in memory of Ms. Elsie to the Parkinson's Foundation,200 SE 1st Street, Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131.
Visitation will be held at Riggs Funeral Home on Friday, December 22, 2017 from 2 - 3 p.m. with services to follow at 3 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home.
