Ernest Herbert (Porky) Wilson

Mr. Ernest “Porky” Herbert Wilson, 83, passed away at his residence on Monday, August 5, 2019.

Mr. Ernest was born and raised in Savannah, Georgia. He was retired from the Local 474 as a crane operator and was known by many of his co-workers and friends as Porky. Ernest was a member of F&AM Masonic Lodge in Guyton, GA. Spending time with his family, training horses, walking and watching John Wayne brought great joy to his life.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Dorothy Lynn Thompson of 19 years; parents, John Chandler and Lottie Counts Wilson;  son, Ernest Anthony Wilson; daughter, Nanette Alexandria Wilson; brothers, John Willie Wilson and William Roscoe Wilson; and his loving four-legged companion, Tequila.

Survivors include: his daughters, Teresa Maria Wilson, Angela Ty Wilson, and Christina Faye Wilson; son, John Chandler Wilson III; sisters, Joann Wilson Fortner(Leon), and Margaret Wilson Phillips (Bobby); sister-in-law, Carolyn Wilson; and 23 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Friday, August 9, 2019 from 5:00pm – 7:00pm at Riggs Funeral Home.
