Eugene "Gene" Hedrick

-Rincon- Mr. Eugene "Gene" Knight Hedrick, 81, passed away Thursday, May 24, 2018, at his residence.
Gene was born in Danville, Virginia on February 8, 1937 to Edward and Mae Hedrick. He was a loving husband and father and an avid Georgia fan (Go Dawgs). He retired from the Intermarine Ship Building Company, as a cost engineer. After retirement, he enjoyed working for the Effingham County and Rincon Recreation Departments.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward Hedrick and Mae Adams; and daughter, Dana Hedrick.
Survivors include: his loving wife of 40 years, Ruth Hedrick; sons, Chris Hedrick (Lila) of San Diego, California, David Hedrick (Sarah) of Peachtree City, Georgia, and Kevin Hedrick (Allison) of Lexington, South Carolina; daughter, Pam Orsini (Tom) of Virginia Beach, Virginia; brother, James "Butch" Adams (Christy) of Poquoson, Viriginia; and grandchildren, Grayson Orsini (Kelsey) of Richmond, Virginia, Alexandra Orsini of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Vivian Hedrick of Peachtree City, Georgia and Andrew Hedrick of Peachtree City, Georgia
The Hedrick family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Regency SouthernCare Hospice for the wonderful care they gave to Mr. Gene.
Services will be held at Rincon United Methodist Church on Friday, June 1, 2018, at 10AM with private burial afterwards.
