-Guyton- Mr. Freddie Edmond Rollins, 90, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at his residence.
Mr. Freddie was born on April 29, 1931 in Port Wentworth, Georgia to William P. and Dora Tyson Rollins. After his father passed away when Freddie was just 2 years old, the family moved to Guyton where he grew up attending Guyton School and helping work on the family farm. He was a retired electrician from the IBEW Local 508 and a member of the WPR Hunting Club.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 70 years, Minnie Jean Arnold Rollins; parents, William and Dora Rollins; and eight brothers and one sister.
Survivors include: his daughter, Jennie Smith of Guyton; sons, William “Bill” E. Rollins (Toni) of Guyton, Michael Rollins (Joann) of Columbus, Ohio, and David Rollins (Joyce) of Pooler; and 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held in the Guyton Cemetery on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at 10am. Due to COVID-19, social distancing and face mask are requested.
Mr. Freddie and his wife were avid lovers of animals and the family ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his memory to the Effingham Animal Shelter, 307 Highway 119 South Springfield, GA 31329.
