GUYTON – Gary Cohen Arms, 72, died May 19, 2022 at home while under the care of Southern Regency Hospice, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born August 25, 1949 in Greenville, SC and lived in Savannah for most of his life before moving to Guyton.
Gary graduated from East Tennessee State University with a bachelor's degree in Music Education. In addition to working at Gulfstream Aerospace as a Sr. Communications Specialist for 39 years, he was also Minister of Music at several local churches. Gary attended Sycamore Church in Savannah before moving his membership to Abundant Life in Springfield, GA. He loved music and played many instruments both in and out of church. He was an avid aviator and held his pilot’s license. Gary was also a member of the local EAA chapter and a member of Goshen Real Estate Investing Group.
Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Linda Chilen Arms, of Guyton, GA; daughter, Lynn Roberts Hart, of Guyton, GA; son, Eddie Roberts (Lori), of Guyton, GA; daughter, Anna Arms Ivey (Clegg), of Arlington, Virginia; son, Kerry Arms (Alisa), of Richmond Hill, GA; mother, Geraldine Jeter Arms, of Statesboro, GA; sister, Gail Arms Cribbs (David), of Fayetteville, GA; sister, Cathy Arms von Kurzbach (Elmar), of Folkston, GA; sister, Ruth Arms Linton, of Warner Robbins, GA; granddaughters, Stephanie Brown, of Savannah, GA; Lauren Hart, of Springfield, GA; grandsons, Michael Arms, of Richmond Hill, GA; Brian Arms, of Richmond Hill, GA; Caleb Hart, of Guyton, GA; Luke Roberts, of Springfield, GA; great grandson, Benji Cobb, Springfield, GA; great granddaughter, Rayah Cobb, of Springfield, GA and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held at 5:00pm on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Abundant Life Church, 1541 Highway 21, Springfield, GA 31329.
