Springfield- George Arnold Tuttle, 74, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family, on Wednesday, January 5, 2022.
He was born in Guyton, Georgia on January 11, 1947, to Uldine Pitts and the late George Dexter Tuttle. George’s greatest passion was singing and playing music. He wrote several country and gospel songs.He was a proud veteran who served with the United States Marine Corps from 1966 - 1968 and did a tour of duty in Vietnam in 1968. Mr. George was a mechanic and owned his own shop in Shawnee, Georgia for many years and was a member of Turkey Branch Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Terry A. Tuttle; mother, Uldine Pitts; children, Tim (Donna), Lori Stanley (Brenda), Jennifer, and Destiny; stepchildren, Amy Edwards (Clifford), and Megan Burns (Michael); brothers, Tony Pitts (Debbie), Ezell Pitts (Nancy), and Kevin Pitts; several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; and his two fur babies, Sissy and Caine, that he loved dearly.
A funeral service will be held at 12pm on Friday, January 7, 2022, at Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be held following the service in Turkey Branch United Methodist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in Mr. George’s memory to Amedisys Foundation, 3854 American Way, Suite A, Baton Rouge LA 70816.
