Gerald "Jerry" Jones

Gerald “Jerry” David Jones 69, passed away peacefully at his home in Guyton Georgia on Friday, March 07, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Jerry dedicated his life to the ones he loved, a devoted husband, father, papa, brother, uncle, and friend. He was born in Savannah GA. and grew up in Guyton Georgia. He was a graduate of Effingham County High School and an Owner Operator for many years until he fell ill. Jerry enjoyed spending as much time as he could with his wife and 4 kids. As years went by new joys came to light, grandkids, he spent as much time as he could with them such as fishing, golfcart rides, and camping trips. Jerry was a calm sole and could strike up a conversation with anyone. He enjoyed his long walks down the road, stopping and speaking to friends and family along the way. 

He was preceded in death by his father, James Dewey Jones, Jr.; mother, Cecelia Dotson Jones; and brother, Dennis Jones. 

He leaves to carry on his legacy through his wife, Rebecca Jones of Guyton, GA; daughters, Tina (Woodrow) Hall of Guyton, GA, and Cindy (Rhett) Roscinski of Guyton, GA; sons, Gerald (Kassie) Jones Jr. of Pembrook, GA and Brandon (Travis Deloach) Jones of Guyton, GA; grandkids: Garrett and Kaitlyn Hall, Kolebe, Cohner, Blake, and Ryleigh Roscinski, Matthew, Mason, and Maverick Jones, and Adalyn Jones; brothers, Jimmy Jones, Mike (Irene) Jones, Darrell Jones, all of Guyton, and Donnie (Janet) Jones of Garden City; and many other loving family members including mother and father-in-law, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Jerry will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him. 

Visitation will be held from 10-11am at North Salem Baptist Church on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, with the funeral service following at 11am. Burial will be held in the church cemetery.
