Mr. Jack Lavon Edwards, 47, passed away Monday, January 3, 2022, at Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Lavon was born in Savannah, Georgia on July 7, 1974, to Jack and Nancy Edwards and lived in Effingham County his whole life. He was a 1992 graduate of Effingham County High School and went on to continue his education at Ogeechee Technical College. Lavon worked for 20 plus years as an architectural draftsman and worked alongside his family on the family farm. In his free time, Lavon enjoyed traveling in his Mustang GT with his family, going to state parks, and watching superhero movies.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Edwards; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Shirley and Mike Latshaw.


Survivors include his loving wife of 13 years, Wendy Edwards; father, Jack Edwards; sister, Anita Butler (Kevin); brother-in-law, Chip Latshaw; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation will be held from 11am-12pm on Saturday, January 8, 2022, at Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home with a funeral service to follow at 12pm in the chapel of the funeral home.
