James Reid Edwards

James Reid Edwards, 26, passed away Tuesday, July 27, 2021.

James was born December 17, 1994 in Ridgeland, SC but lived most of his life in Clyo, GA. He attended Effingham County High School and was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 474.

He is preceded in death by his: paternal grandparents, Walter and Loraine Edwards of Clyo, GA; maternal grandfather, Reid Jeffries Jr. of Sylvania, GA.

Survived by his: son, Hunter Wayne Smith of Springfield GA; parents, Wayne and Penny Edwards of Clyo, GA; grandmother, Sandra Jeffries of Clyo, GA;  siblings, Sandra Maechtle (Greg) of Statesboro, GA, Christie Durden (Mitchell) of Springfield, GA, Bradley Malphrus (Crystal) of Groton, CT, and  Brianna Edwards of Clyo, GA; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7pm on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held at 2pm on Sunday, August 1, 2021 at Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home.

Interment will follow in Edwards-Butler Cemetery at 534 Old Augusta Rd. Clyo, GA.

Pallbearers will be Kelly Hall, Tyler Wilds, Brantley Burns, Christopher Durden, Ben Wells, Greg Tinin, Chett Arnsdorff, and Mitchell Brant.
