James Kenneth Fort

James Kenneth Fort, 65, passed away at his residence on Friday, September 22, 2023.

James was born in Ocala, Florida, on July 21, 1958, to the late Van and Gracie Fort. Self-taught as a teenager,

James worked for decades as a mechanic in Jacksonville, Florida, where he was most known for working

on Harley-Davidsons and being an incredible machinist. James loved traveling across the country to race

Harleys, hunting, fishing, history, and listening to music.

James will forever be remembered as a hard-working, loving, and caring soul who had a knack for finding all

sorts of animals and taking them in to care for them. He will be missed deeply by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his children, James Van Fort, Victoria Anne Fort, and Jesse James West; sisters, Janice Fort

and Loretta Fort Donaldson; 7 nieces and nephews; 12 great nieces and nephews; and four great-great nieces

and nephews.

Services will be private.
