Jay Brannon Chanes passed away on August 27, 2020 at the Effingham County Hospital Emergency Room, where he was surrounded by his Husband Johnathan Chanes, family and friends who loved him so deeply.
He was born on September 13, 1981 in Savannah, GA, where his Mother Faye Broughten and Father Jerry Hester proudly welcomed him into this world. Jay graduated from South Effingham High in 2000, where he amazed not only his parents but his peers with his powerful singing voice. He enjoyed listening to old music and watching good-hearted comedies. Jay’s other enjoyments were playing Dead By Daylight and spending hours gaming with his husband Johnathan, his brother-in-law Jordan Hughes, and sister-in-law Tori Hughes.
Jay also leaves behind three brothers, Tommy Daniels, Jimmy Hester, and John Hilderbrant; and by his sister, Lisa Macy.
May prayers and hope find their way for the loss of Jay Chanes.
