John Charles Luyster, 82, of Guyton Georgia passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at his residence.
John was born on March 29,1939 to the late George W and Myrtal Anger Luyster of New Jersey where John worked at Wayne Transmission as a Transmission mechanic. He later moved his wife, Anna Mae and family to Guyton Georgia where he has lived for 44 years. He retired from Georgia Port Authority after 21 years and then became part owner in Pineora Transmission.
He was preceded in death his wife, Anna Mae Hart Luyster, of 50 years.
Survivors include: his sons and daughters in law, Robert Bobby Luyster (Melany) of Wewoka Oklahoma and Alfred Ricky Luyster (Sheri) of Guyton, Georgia;
daughters and sons in law, Martha Susie Jenkins (Lamar) of Rincon Georgia and Anna Cookie Moore (Robbie) of Guyton Georgia; 9 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; brother-in-law, James “Jimmy” Naso of California, sister in law, Carol Hart of Sylvania Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home on Thursday, November 18, 2021, from 6 -8pm. A funeral service will be held at Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home on Friday, November 19, 2021, at 12noon with burial to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Meldrim, Georgia.
Pallbearers will be Mitch Simmons, Glen Craun, Robert DePremio, Jay Black, David Bowen, and Brian Jenkins.
