Joseph M. Bir

Beloved father and grandfather, Joseph M. Bir,69, passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at his home in Springfield, GA under the care of Hospice Savannah.

Mr. Joseph was born on February 18, 1954, in Dayton Ohio and lived in the Dayton area for most of his life before moving to the Savannah, GA area. A graduate of Kiser High school. Joseph worked as a machinist and retired from Daniel Defense. He was a proud member of the Polish club in Dayton, Ohio to which he served as President from 2006-2007.

Surviving are his significant other, Alice Landis; daughter and son-in-law Joey and Brian Costa; grandchildren, Angelina Costa, Jacob Costa, Samuel Costa, August Costa, and Liliana Costa; sister, Sandra Krimm; Brother Patrick Bir (Sandra); along with nieces, Nancy Lucas (Leo Lucus and daughters Stella and Megan), Missy Bir (children, Mariah and Austin); and nephews, Mike Bir, Nate Bir, and Chris Bir.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Christina Bir (Havenga), mother, Stella Bir; father, Charles Bir; two brothers, Charles and Albert Bir; and nephew, Tony Krimm.

Joe will be remembered for his infectious laugh and being the life of the party.

Per his request there will be no funeral services

His family will be having a celebration of life with the time and place to be announced in the near future.
