Joyce Carter Cooper

Joyce Carter Cooper, 69, passed away at her residence on Thursday, February 16, 2023, with her loving family by her side.

Mrs. Joyce was born in Savannah on May 11, 1953, to the late Dewey and Frances Carter. Coming from a large family with many siblings, family was always very important to her. Her grandchildren were her world and she loved to spoil them. She was a lady that was always on the move, enjoying trips to the mountains and to the beaches in Florida were some of her favorite times.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Dewey and Frances Carter; son, Shane Hodges; grandson, Dustin Morrow; sisters, Pat Jeffers and Jean Olliff; and brother, Stanley Carter.

Survivors include: her children, Joey Hurst and Rita Morrow (Shanon); granddaughters, Amber Morris (Chris), Ashlyn Hurst, Sierra Howard, and Destiny Morrow; great grandchildren, Skyler Morris, Sophie Morris, and Stella Morris; sisters, Frankie Williams, Linda Butterworth, and Sandy Carter; brothers, Timothy Carter, Jessie Carter, Dennis Carter, and Jackie Carter.

Visitation will be held from 12:30pm – 1:30pm on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be held at 2:45pm on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at Hillcrest Abbey East.
