Judy Price Wheeler

Judy Price Wheeler, 61, passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at the Effingham County Hospital. Born on September 22, 1963, in Baltimore, Maryland, Judy devoted her life to both her career and her family, leaving a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to know her.

Judy served as a Master Appraiser for the Effingham County Board of Assessors for many years, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to her profession before retiring. Her expertise and dedication were invariably recognized, and she earned the respect and friendship of colleagues throughout her career.

While her professional achievements were significant, Judy's heart was always anchored in her family. She cherished the moments spent with her loved ones and took great pride in her grandbabies, reveling in the joy they brought into her life. Judy was known for her kind and welcoming nature, creating a warm atmosphere that made everyone around her feel at ease. In her free time, Judy enjoyed fishing and going to the beach. These hobbies not only provided her with joy but also offered cherished moments spent with family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Dianne Price; sister, Charlotte Price; and daughter, Cindy Wheeler. 

Survivors include: her loving husband of 43 years, Robert Wheeler; sons, Brandon Wheeler of Clyo and Robert Wheeler of Florida; daughters, Tabatha Todd of Portal and Tina Woods of Clyo; brother, James Price of Effingham County; grandchildren: Jada Todd, Junior Edwards, Amber Newsome, Alexis Strader, Matthew Wheeler, Emily Montgomery, Lillianna Woods, Lorali Woods, Aubrey Wheeler, Madison Wheeler, Lacey Wheeler, RJ Wheeler, and Valerie Wheeler; and many other loving family members and friends. 

Visitation will be held at Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home on Saturday, November 2, 2024, from 10:30am-11:00am with a celebration to follow in the chapel of the funeral home at 11:00am.
