Kenneth Robertson,77, a beloved educator and passionate animal advocate, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2024, at Memorial Hospital. He was born on January 6,1947, in Hamlet, North Carolina and lived in Effingham County for a number of years. Kenneth's legacy is marked by a profound commitment to education, having earned a master’s degree in education serving as a principal for many years in North Carolina.
In addition to his professional achievements, Kenneth was known for his vibrant personality and zest for life. He was an avid golfer who cherished time spent on the greens, enjoyed visiting the shooting range, and loved NASCAR racing. Kenneth shared many of these interests with his beloved wife, creating countless joyous memories together.
One of Kenneth's greatest passions was his love for animals. He and his wife devoted significant time and energy to caring for creatures in need, showcasing their compassion and commitment to making the world a better place for all living beings.
Kenneth leaves behind a rich legacy that will continue to inspire those who knew him. His warmth, dedication, and adventurous spirit will be profoundly missed by friends, family, and all those whose lives he touched during his remarkable journey.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Virginia Robertson; and brothers, Gilbert Robertson, Jr., Robert Robertson, John Robertson, and Edwin Robertson. Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Ellen Robertson; brother, Ralph Robertson of North Carolina; and sister, Diane Sheppard of South Carolina.
