Kevin Thayer

Kevin Thayer, 72, passed away at his home in Guyton on Friday, July 12, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

A proud veteran, Kevin honorably served in the United States Army. Throughout his career, Kevin worked tirelessly at International Paper, before retiring after many years of dedication. His commitment to hard work extended beyond his professional life as he volunteered as a firefighter for Guyton for many years.

Kevin was a proud member of Pineora Baptist Church and had a great love for working outdoors. He found solace in helping others and was always willing to help in any way he could. Above all, Kevin loved spending time with his loving and adoring family. Family meant the world to Kevin; he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ferber and Jane Thayer; and sister, Patty Frazier.

Kevin leaves behind the love of his life, Donna Thayer; sons, Chad Thayer, Grant Thayer (Ashley), and Cameron Thayer all of Guyton; children from his previous marriage, Matthew Thayer and Dorraine Lampert both of Ohio; brothers, Craig Thayer and Lynn Thayer (Nancy) both of Ohio; grandchildren, Alexis, Brianna, Kearstyn, Dawsyn, Lilah, and Millie; great grandson, Braxton; beloved four-legged companion, Baxter; special friend, Maggie Mortimer; and a multitude of extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be held at Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, from 5-7pm. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at 11am in the chapel of Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Guyton Cemetery.
