Kimberly Celene Windham Jenkins was born on October 6, 1962, in Jacksonville, FL and sadly passed away on May 2, 2023 in Reno, Nevada. She lived most of her life in Effingham County, GA until she moved to Reno in 2012. Kim fought a long hard battle with kidney disease.

Kim graduated from Effingham County High School in 1980. She was an avid participant in chorus and was a member of the elite Women's Choir. Kim had an amazing vocal range and was considered a coloratura. Kim loved to sing and took any available opportunity to share her gift with others.
Kim's father was in the military and her family traveled around the US. After his retirement, he took a job in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where they continued to travel across the Middle East, Europe, and the Mediterranean countries. Kim returned to Effingham County when her mother became terminally ill with cancer.
Kim made a life for herself working first for Savannah Communications, and then for the Effingham County Board of Education when she wanted to spend more time with her sons. During her BOE career she was a bus driver and substitute teacher. Kim especially enjoyed driving for sporting events, and during that time she drove the county wrestling team to the state championship, which they won, and presented her with her very own championship ring. Kim also competed in the bus rodeo numerous times and even represented Effingham at the state level in the finals. When she moved to Reno, NV in 2012 she continued her love for transportation work by working for RTC (Keolis) as a driver and dispatcher.
In addition to singing, Kim enjoyed being outdoors camping, fishing, boating, sports, creating crafts and numerous others. She especially enjoyed racing in the Queen Bee division at Oglethorpe Speedway Park for many years, as this became a much-loved family activity.
