Larry "Bird Dog" Dutton

Larry “Bird Dog” Kent Dutton, 65, passed away at Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, July 24, 2024. Larry was born on September 2, 1958, in Texas and was raised and lived in Effingham County. 

Throughout his life, Larry made a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of crossing paths with him. Larry will always be remembered as an outdoorsman who found solace and joy in nature. His passion for being on the water, fishing along the river, was a source of great happiness for him. Additionally, Larry found joy and fulfillment in bird hunting.

Beyond his love for nature, Larry's warm and welcoming personality left an lasting mark on everyone he met. Larry was cherished by all who had the pleasure of knowing him - his presence brought light and joy to any room he entered.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bernard “Billy” and Doris Dutton; and brother, Bartow Dutton. Survivors include: his sisters, Becky Brigdon (Mike) of Rincon and Joette Dutton Studier (Joe) of Pineora; and many loved nieces, nephews and friends. 

A graveside service will be held at Guyton Cemetery on Friday, July 26, 2024, at 10am.
