Linda M. Beasley “Nan,” 79, passed away June 11, 2021, after a brief illness.
Born on August 8, 1941, to the late William and Dicie Matthews.
Linda’s love knew no bounds as she never encountered a stranger. She was known for her sharp wit, intellect, and selfless devotion to those she loved. Like a true southern lady, her home was always welcoming with a warm meal and wonderful conversation. She could set a “fine table” much like her mother. But, above all, her greatest joy was creating family memories.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Gerald McVay; second husband, Maurice Beasley; her parents, William and Dicie Matthews; her sisters and brother; and her best friends, Barbara Collier and Linda Piatt.
Survived by her daughters, Tamara Bowers (Mark), Tina Caine (Will), and Traci Strickland (Brian); grandsons, John O’Donovan (Shanale Shamberger), Ben Strickland, and Brody Stickland; great-grandson, Oaklen O’Donovan; best friend, Jill Saxon (Frank); her furry best friend, Boots; Sweet daughter #4, Karen Morgan and her children Lily Morgan and Kate “Toots” Morgan; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will occur from 11-12 pm on Monday, June 14, 2021, at Elam Egypt Baptist Church. A funeral service will be at noon following the visitation.
