Marie Guffin Gaskin

Marie Guffin Gaskin,60, passed away in her home on Monday, March 10, 2025. She was born on July 21, 1964, in Marietta, GA and had lived in Springfield, GA since 1994.

Marie was a devoted military wife, moving where service called, understanding her husband’s travels and long hours, and making a home wherever they were with whatever they had. She was a proud 1983 graduate of North Cobb High School and attended Kennesaw State University. Marie was of the Southern Baptist faith and accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age and was a member of First Baptist Church of Springfield, GA. Marie was a homemaker for many years, having previously worked in the mortgage loan industry and as a substitute teacher. Marie had many families in addition to her blood and marriage family. She dearly loved the members of each one. These included her church families from Shady Grove Baptist, Acworth First Baptist, Roswell Street Baptist, the RSBC Youth Choir, her sister NCHS cheerleaders, the many cheerleading squads she coached, her families in Patriot Guard and other motorcycle groups.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, William Stephen Guffin, Sr. and Marcielle Goodson Guffin.

She is survived by her husband, William Gaskin of Springfield, GA; daughter and son-in-love, Kaylee Gaskin Triplett and John Triplett of Sylvania, GA; daughter and son-in-love, Erin Gaskin Sepulveda and Adrian Sepulveda of Rincon, GA; grandchildren Carlee Marcielle Triplett, Emory Oliver Triplett, Aubree Irene Triplett, Avery William Triplett, William Lucas Sepulveda, Raquel Nova Sepulveda, Leonardo Nes Sepulveda, Jorge Mateo Sepulveda, and Elliana Rose Sepulveda; twin sister, Melissa Guffin True; brothers, William Stephen Guffin Jr and Kevin Eugene Guffin; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Marie’s passing has left a void in our hearts, and she will be profoundly missed. But we have not lost her for we know where she is. 

Visitation will be held at Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home on Saturday, March 15, 2025, from 1pm-2pm with a funeral service to follow at 2pm in the chapel of the funeral home. A private family burial will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2025.
