Rincon - Mary Theresa Smith Rawlings, 88, passed away December 27, 2015, at the Effingham Extended Care Center. Theresa loved being with friends and family. Her joyful smile, sparkling personality, and innate culinary skills made her home a popular gathering place for those who were blessed to know her. i�½i�½A native of southwest Arkansas, she graduated with a bachelor's degree from Henderson State Teachers College and married her handsome suitor, Bob Rawlings in 1952. After living 20 years in Illinois and Minnesota, she and Bob settled with their family in Marietta, Georgia. There she was a dedicated volunteer at Kennestone Hospital and a faithful member of Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Odessa Pearce Smith and Daniel Newton Smith, Sr.; husband, Bob Rawlings; and brother, Dan Smith. She is survived by her children Randy Rawlings (Mary Sue) of Wheat Ridge, Colorado; Becky Long (Freddy) of Rincon, Georgia; Malia Poole (Robert) of Marietta, Georgia; and Linda Rawlings of West Palm Beach, Florida; sister, Gerane McWilliams of Texarkana, Texas; grandchildren Kailyn Rawlings, Levi Rawlings, Mary Paige Jones (Ben), Skylar Long (Amanda), Kate Long, Mary Claire Higginbotham, Chase Higginbotham (Paula), Blake Poole, Hannah Olstein and Zachary Olstein; and great grandchildren Alex Jones, Addison Jones, Avery Long and Andrea Higginbotham. Funeral service: January 2 at 11:00 a.m. at the Alleene Cemetery under the direction of Madden Funeral Home in Ashdown, Arkansas. Memorials may be made to the Alleene Cemetery Association, P.O.
