Mary Frances Sanders

Mary Frances Morgan Sanders,73, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, January 18, 2025, after a long battle with kidney disease. She was born February 11, 1951, in Screven County, Ga but was raised in Effingham County. She graduated from Effingham County High School in 1969. 

Mary lived in North Carolina and North Georgia before returning home to be close to her family in 2018. She worked at Ingles Grocery store for many years and enjoyed working with Carlson & Co. delivering flowers after her retirement. Above all, Mary enjoyed spending time with her family, her son and grandson. 

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Katherine Morgan; husband, Michael Sanders; and siblings, Brenda Mitchell, Kathleen Joyner, Martha Perkins, Michael Morgan and Dwayne Morgan. 

She is survived by her son, William Wilson (Tina); daughter, Teresa Waldhour (Cindy); grandson, Carter Wilson; granddaughter, Katie Marschausen; brother, William Morgan (Beth); bonus grandson, James Zapeline; bonus great grandsons, Tucker, Preston and Adam; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

A celebration of life for Mary will be held at Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at 6pm.
