Maxine M. Oglesby, 80, passed away at her residence on Wednesday, March 21, 2018, surrounded by her loving children.
Mrs. Maxine was born in Sylvania, Georgia on January 4, 1938 to Mason and Essie McKinney. She was a long time resident of Guyton, Georgia and a member of Elam Egypt Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Mason and Essie McKinney; and three sisters, Margaret Hindley, Glynes Skinner and Treva Riggs.
Survivors include: her sons, Danny Webster Oglesby, Jr. (Susie) of Egypt and Chris Oglesby of Millen; daughter, Poppy Dockray of Hamilton, Missouri; grandchildren, Danny Webster Oglesby, III, Courtney Oglesby, Christopher Todd Oglesby, Jr., Brittany Santee, Ellis Dockray and Wren Dockray; and great-grandchildren, Damion Santee, Raymond Santee, Makayla Santee, Savannah Oglesby, Amber Oglesby and Jonathan Dockary.
Visitation will be held at Riggs Funeral Home on Saturday, March 24, 2018, from 2 -4 PM. Graveside Services will be held at 2PM on Sunday, March 25, 2018, in the Foy Cemetery at Elam Egypt.
The family of Maxine Oglesby would like to extended a special thanks to Hospice of Savannah for providing excellent care in their time of need.
