Mirrisa Lastinger Boyd,64, a beloved mother, grandmother, and wife, passed away peacefully under the care of SunCare Hospice at her residence on Sunday, February 9, 2025, surrounded by her loving husband, Dana Boyd and loving son, Shane Lastinger, along with other family members and friends. She was born in Savannah, Georgia on August 11, 1960 and lived in Guyton for most of her life. Mirissa brightened the lives of those around her with her kind spirit and unwavering love for her family.
Mirrisa dedicated much of her career to working as a trucking dispatcher, where her organizational skills and compassion shone through in her interactions with colleagues. Her commitment to her work was matched only by her devotion to her family, whom she cherished above all.
An alumna of Groves High School, Mirrisa always carried a love for learning and adventure. In her free time, she found joy in the great outdoors, particularly in the mountains and while camping. She had a passion for cultivating beautiful flowers and collected various old relics and knick-knacks, which reflected her appreciation for the beauty in life's simplest treasures.
Above all, Mirrisa was known for her caring and loving nature. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcomed and valued. Loved by many, she will be remembered for her warmth, infectious smile, and the lasting memories she created with her family and friends.
Marissa leaves behind her loving husband, son, daughter, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering to honor Mirrisa will take place on Saturday, February 15, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM, at Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home.
