-Clyo- Mr. Mitchell Bryant Edwards, 63, passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2017, at his residence.
Mitchell was born in Clyo, Georgia, on July 13, 1954 to Johnnie Berry and Mary Jane Edwards. He was a wonderful friend that enjoyed socializing with others and making new friends. Farming, gardening, working with yard/farm equipment and piddling outside brought much joy to his life.
Over the years, Mitchell was employed by Bruce Burn Sawmill, Springfield Tractor Company, Springfield Farm and Animal, and also for the City of Springfield.
He is preceded in death by: his father, Johnnie Berry Edwards; and brother, Matthew Edwards.
Survivors include: his son, Bryant Edwards (Charnan) of Clyo; daughter, Olivia Coleman (Russell) of Eden; mother, Mary Jane Edwards of Clyo; sisters, Polly Edwards of Guyton and Ethel Edwards of Clyo; grandchildren, Wyatt Rogers, Anthony Coleman and Sarah Coleman; uncle, John Hyman; and a number of nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his beloved Jack Russell Terrier, Jill, who loved going for rides and spending time with her Dad.
Visitation will be held at Riggs Funeral Home on Sunday, September 3, 2017, from 2 - 3 p.m. with funeral services to follow at 3 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. Interment will be held in the Silver Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery.
