Mr. Joseph "Joe" Powers, Sr

-Guyton- Mr. Joseph "Joe" Powers, Sr., passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2015, at Effingham County Hospital. Mr. Powers was born in Miami, Florida and lived in Effingham County for a number of years. He was a retired middle school teacher and a member of New Providence Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Iris Powers; brother, Bruce P. Powers II of North Carolina; daughter, Jennifer Takemoto of Colorado Springs and grandson, Sugi of Colorado Springs. Funeral Services will be held at Riggs Funeral Home on Friday, February 13, 2015 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the Guyton Cemetery.
