Mr. Noel Buchanan Webb, Sr

-Springfield- Noel Buchanan Webb, 61, passed January 20, 2016 at 2:45 p.m. Born in 1954, Noel lived all his life in Effingham County. He was the youngest child of Thomas and Hazel Webb, now deceased. He was always involved in the Webb family businesses, acquiring new skills and working hard to help his Dad. Noel graduated from Effingham County High School in 1973 and attended Abraham Baldwin College in Tifton, Georgia. Due to his dad's declining health, he returned to Savannah and attended Armstrong State College. He went on to operate and manage The Webb's SOC Station, which over the years changed to FINA and then finally to Webb's Service Station. He provided many tire services, including those for trucks and tractors. His willingness to help others meant that no one in need was ever turned away. As Noel's health deteriorated due to diabetes, closing the Webb's Service Station was necessary. In keeping with his strong desire to remain active in the community, he opened a game and billiards room. His goal was to provide a fun place for all, especially the teenagers, somewhere to go where drinking and bad language were not allowed. He formed championship tournaments and supported many charities during this time. Unfortunately, his health continued to decline and he had to close the billiards room. He leaves behind two daughters and one son; Dana (Jeremy) Coleman, Valerie (Joel) Everett, and Noel (Brandi) Webb Jr. Seven beloved grandchildren; Garrett and Ansley Coleman, Anna and Cole Everett, and Carson, Cohen and Cydnee Webb; an older brother, Donald Webb and family, an older sister, Linda Webb Hodgson and family, in addition to many other nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts. He lost his beloved sister, Vonnie Busby, in March 2015. A man of great character with unmatched work ethics. One who lived the philosophy "A man's word is his bond." He will be remembered, loved and missed by many. Visitation will be held from 6 -8 p.m. on Friday evening at Riggs Funeral Home.
