Mr. Onno Frans Besier

-Guyton- Onno Frans Besier, known to maky as "Dutch", 76, passed away Friday, October 30, 2015, at his residence. He leaves behind his wife of 41 years, Judith (Wechter) Besier; his son, Todd and his wife Stacie (Faulk) and their three children, Ellen, Ethen and Anson; his daughter, Heather (Besier) Jacobs and her husband, James and three children, Annslee, Banner and Carson; his daughter, Skye (Besier) Wilharm and her husband, Jody and their two children, Emma and Ayden; his brothers, Peter Besier, Joost Besier and Gert Jan Besier and their families. He preceded in death by his brother, Floris Besier. Born and raised in Holland, the sons of Johann and Carolina Besier, he followed the wishes of his father to "go out in the world and find your fortune" and became a United States Citizen in 1984. He lived for many years in New Orleans where he became employed by Delta Airlines. He was transferred to Atlanta where he met his wife Judi. The two married and eventually were transferred to Savannah. They bought a plot of land in small town in Guyton and made their lifelong home there and he continued to work for Delta for 31 years. Mr. Besier had a passion for gardening and spent most of his days in his gardens. He found peace in tilling the land and harvesting the fruits of his labor. A private service will be held at the family home on Wednesday, November 4, 2015, at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his name to Coastal Georgia Botanical Gardens.
