-Rincon- Mrs. Esel Stanfield Ray, 90, passed away Thursday, May 22, 2014 at Effingham County Extended Care Facility. Mrs. Ray was born on August 15, 1923 to Lesley E. and Beulah Lee Stanfield. She was a loving mother, a homemaker and a member of Maranatha Assembly of God. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William D. Ray; four sons, Junior, Sammy, Joby and Allen Ray; four sisters, Melissa Stanfield, Esemae Higgs, Geneva Jackson and Estelle Durrence; three brothers, Lannes T. Stanfield, Lesley E. Stanfield and Sammie W. Stanfield. Mrs. Ray is survived by three daughters, Loutrele Poole (Buddy), Deborah Williams (Wesley) and Rozzie Nusbaum (Delbert); three sons, Jimmie (Brenda), Johnny (Faye), and Andy (Audrey); three sisters, Edith Driggers, Marie Caraway and Bertie Lou Parker; one brother, H.A. Stanfield; 19 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff of Effingham Extended Care Facility in Springfield, GA for their love and care for their mom. Graveside services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Watermelon Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Glenville, Ga.
