Mrs. Mary Doris Peavy Canuet

-Guyton- Mrs. Mary Doris Peavy Canuet, 88, passed away Monday, April 7, 2014 at her residence. Mrs. Canuet was born in Atlanta, Georgia but lived in Effingham County for a number of years, she was a homemaker and a member of Sandhill Baptist Church. Mrs. Canuet is preceded in death by her husband, George E. Canuet, Sr.; son, George E. Canuet, Jr.; father, Fred Albert Peavy; mother, Maggie Louise Billings, step-mother, Louise Peavy; brother, Willie Peavy and sister, Freddie Newton. Survivors include: her children, Martha C. Jones (Bill), Randall C. Canuet (Stacy Partain), Wanda C. Griffin (Robert) and Angela C. Campbell (Joe); grandchildren, Felisha D. Hicks (Donnie), Michael J. Griffin (Jennifer Pickett), George O. Griffin (Shannon Burns), Sandra M.; Keith Allen Goetz (Shelia), Shana Chandler (Kirk), Kim Goetz-Randall (Mike); Diana Michelle Waters (Chad) and Skye Paige Mills; great grandchildren, Genesis Marie Proctor, Kyle Joseph Proctor, George Kaden Griffin, Kodah Rericha, Bryce Christopher Findley, Audrey Helaina Hicks, Katherine Estelle Stanley, Mabry Ray Overstreet, Josh Goetz, Brandon Goetz, Marissa Nichole Waters, Shyanne Chandler and Savannah Chandler. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 11, 2014 from 5-7 p.m. at Riggs Funeral Home with memorial services to follow at 7 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 11 a.m. in the Guyton Cemetery.
