Mrs. Victoria Edwards Usher

-Shawnee- Mrs. Victoria Edwards Usher, 84, wife of Charles Leon Usher passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at St. Joseph Hospital in Savannah, Georgia Victoria was born in Clyo, Georgia. She was a homemaker, loving her flowers especially Petunias. She worked at the Springfield Lumber Company and later was the co-owner of the Shawnee General Store with her husband. She was a member of Laurel Hill Lutheran Church until her marriage to Charles when she joined Corinth Baptist Church. Victoria was very involved with the Effingham County Fair along with her husband for many years. She was the last surviving charter member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy Effingham County Hussars Chapter #2285 where she held several offices. Victoria is preceded in death by her parents, Marshall and Helen Edwards; sister, Charlotte Edwards and two brother, James and Leroy Edwards. Survivors include her loving husband of 64 years, Charles Usher; son, Glenn Usher; sister - in - laws, nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2014, from 5 -8 p.m. at Riggs Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at Corinth Baptist Church on Friday, June 20, 2014, at 2 p.m. with her body lying in state one hour prior to services.
