Ms. Pat Lewis, 88, passed away in her sleep on Saturday, January 4, 2020, at St. Joseph Hospital.
Ms. Pat was a member of Little Ogeechee Baptist Church where her sweet smile, quick wit, and banana pudding will be greatly missed. She was a school bus driver for Effingham County for 10 years and retired from what she loved doing most, cooking and taking care of children at First Baptist Church in Springfield, GA. Being a very determined lady, she lived an independent life on her own terms. To know Ms. Pat was to know love; she loved many and was loved by many. Her greatest joy came from giving and receiving hugs.
Survivors include: her children, Ron Lewis of Plant City, FL, Lee Hayward of Ellabell, Ann “Marty” Lilly of Coco, FL, John Lewis, Jr. of Clyo, Mark Lewis of Cape Coral, FL, and Frankie Lewis of Guyton; younger sister, Vickie Denis Davis of Douglasville, GA; 16 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will be laying Ms. Pat to rest at 11AM on Saturday, January 11, 2020, at Little Ogeechee Baptist Church in Oliver, Georgia with a celebration of life to follow in the dining hall of the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask you to give out a “PAT HUG” to someone today. If you wish to make a donation, the family request it be made in Mrs. Pat’s honor to Little Ogeechee Baptist Church.
