-Guyton-Dr. George H. Lanier, 76, passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2017, at home.
Mr. Lanier was born on December 20, 1940 in Savannah, Georgia. He was a husband, father, pastor, substitute teacher & friend to many in his community.
He is preceded in death by his father, George Hobson Lanier Sr. of Savannah, Georgia; mother, Ernyn Mae Lanier of Savannah, Georgia; brother, Frank Tuttle of Orlando, Florida; brother, Bob Tuttle of Florida; sister, Marcette Stevens of Guyton, Georgia and sister, Charlotte Lanier Becker Simms of Berwyn Heights, Maryland.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Patricia Callaway Lanier of Guyton, Georgia; daughter, Konnie Lanier (Mike) of Hawkinsville, Georgia; son, George Lanier Sr. (Karen) of St. Matthews, South Carolina; daughter, Debbie Lanier (David) of Nevils, Georgia; daughter, Shari Sasser (Greg) of Pembroke, Georgia; son, Stephen Lanier (Kristy) of Guyton, Georgia; daughter, Mara Aligo (Drew) of Guyton, Georgia; son, Timothy Lanier (Mary) of Pooler, Georgia; sister, Amelia Rogers of Rincon, Georgia; 6 nieces and nephews; 20 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Memorial Services will be held at Riggs Funeral Home on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 10 a.m. Colorful casual dress requested. A luncheon in honor of Rev. Lanier will be held afterwards.
