Rev. Medie T. Still,73, a commissioned minister of the Disciples of Christ Church who served in various capacities at Guyton Christian Church and regional elder passed away Saturday, December 4, 2021, after a battle with cancer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ouida and Medie Still Jr. of Pensacola, FL. He leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Barbara L. Still; son, Medie IV (Dr. Leewood) Still; daughter, Rebecca (Jonathan) Freeman; much loved grandchildren, Medie Still V and Rose Still; and sister, Pamela (Perry) Stephens.
Over his career in aerospace, he worked 30 years with Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. and twice at LTV Aerospace in Grand Prairie, TX. His favorite project was helping to design the wing on the Stealth bomber at LTV. With his love of sports, he played both baseball and football while serving with the US Air Force in Britain. He played baseball with Gulfstream and with church leagues in Effingham County. He coached his children’s softball and soccer teams.
With his faith in a loving, living, and active God, he served as camp cook and director at both Camp Kicklighter, Shellman’s Bluff, GA, and Camp Christian, Gary, GA. Rev. Still served many positions with the Disciple Men of Georgia. As a regional elder, he visited churches throughout the region, preaching and encouraging pastors and lay leaders. He saw everyone equally and strived to understand other people beliefs.
A celebration of life will be held at Guyton Christian Church on Saturday, January 8, 2022, at 2pm, the family request that all in attendance wear bright and cheerful clothing. In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to Guyton Christian Church Samaritan Fund, P. O. Box 5, Guyton GA 31312
