Richard Lester Jones, Jr.

Richard Lester Jones, Jr., 44, beloved husband, father, brother, and son passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at his residence.

Richard was born on December 13, 1977, in Savannah, Georgia to Lena Frances Haile and Richard Lester Jones. He worked fourteen years for the Department of Transportation before becoming a stay-at-home dad. Richard could often be found, in his pajamas, drinking coffee and watching A&E or History channel all the way up to the wee hours of the night. He loved his Georgia Bulldogs and watching those Nascars take countless left turns on Sundays. He was a sensitive, gentle soul dedicated to God and his family. He would give someone the shirt off his back as long as it didn't keep him from his coffee and didn't involve too many stairs. Richard was a family man who was well loved and loving.

He was preceded in death by his Father, Richard Lester Jones.

Survivors include: his wife, Danielle Jones; daughter, Rikki Jones; stepchildren, Nicole and Nicholas; grandchildren, Alice and Ezra; mother, Fran; siblings, Robbie, Stephanie and Abigail; and nieces and nephews, June, Madison, Leann, Rylan, Mia, Loughlin, Emily, and Admira.

Visitation will take place from 5 to 7 PM at Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home on Monday, November 28, 2022. A funeral service will be held at the First Assembly of God, in Savannah on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at 11 AM. Richard will be laid to rest at 1pm in the Evergreen Church Cemetery in Metter, Georgia, next to his father, following the funeral service.
