-Springfield- Mr. Robert R. Persons, 68, passed away Friday, March 24, 2017 at the Charles Norwood VA Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia.
Mr. Persons was born in Savannah, Georgia on June 14, 1948 to Alexander and Mary Persons. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in Vietnam, a Millwright with the Local 1263 in Atlanta, Georgia, and of the baptist faith.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his brother, Alex Persons of Sylvania and sister, Paula Garrett of Idaho.
Visitation will held at Riggs Funeral Home on Thursday, March 30, 2017, from 6 -8 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at Riggs Funeral Home on Friday, March 31 at 11 a.m. with burial to follow at 3 p.m. in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville, Georgia.
