Roger William Lewis, Jr.

Roger William Lewis, Jr.,41, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 29, 2023. It comes as no surprise to anyone that knew Roger that his enormous heart was more than his earthly body could handle.

Roger was born on June 2, 1981, in Savannah, GA and attended Groves High School. Roger was a hardworking fabrication technician with Edwards Coastal Welding as well as a Longshoreman with the Local 1475 at the Georgia Ports Authority where he worked alongside several family members and even more brothers of the trade.

Roger Lewis was the most loving father to ever walk the Earth. The treasures of his life were his son, Nate and daughters, River and Jaylyn, whom he woke up talking about and fell asleep praying for. Roger was the best friend anyone could ask for and an even better father, cousin, uncle, and brother. Like everyone else, he stumbled from time to time, but “Mr. I Can Do Anything” was on the climb up and left the rest of us in awe of his love of family and Baby Jesus. Roger truly enjoyed spending any free time at the beach on Tybee Island or visiting his beloved family members at the cemetery. His passing has left an enormous void in the trio he built with his brother, Johnathan and sister, Trisha, but they find comfort knowing he is reunited with their beloved mother, Linda Carolyn Cooper Lewis (Millen, GA) and father, Roger William “Wild Bill” Lewis, Sr. (Savannah, GA).

Roger is survived by his son, Nathan William Lewis of Statesboro, GA; daughter, River Perry Ingram of Guyton, GA; daughter, Jaylyn Sky Lewis of Pooler, GA; sister, Trisha Lynn Hurst of Pooler, GA; brother, Johnathan Edward Lewis of Stilson, GA; nephews, Johnathan Edward Lewis, Jr. of Guyton, GA and Kane William Lewis of Stilson, GA; niece, Ashlyn Hurst of Guyton, GA; niece, Amber Leigh Morris and her husband Chris, along with their children Skyler, Sophie, and Stella of Guyton, GA.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 8, 2023, at Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home from 11am-12pm with a funeral service to follow in the chapel of the funeral home.
